A quick look inside New Designers 2010, at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London
This year, AVA were very pleased to be able to attend New Designers, a show which has a great reputation for the quality of the work on display and the chances it affords the graduates who attend. The standard of work was incredibly high and I was only sorry that I didn’t get more of a chance to look around. We were there selling books and I want to say thank you to everyone who came up and chatted to us, including some lovely lecturers who kept telling their students to come and see us, prospective authors and many graduates who came either to buy books or to tell us why they love the ones they have already. Thank you all! And good luck for the future – especially to those looking forward to next year’s ‘One Year On’ exhibition.

Also some really eye-catching individual pieces for recognisable works, inlcuding book covers for Roald Dahl’s The Twits (among others) and a CD sleeve design for the Guillemots.
Some amazingly intricate constructions below, including ‘The Museum of Childhood’:
And finally our stand!
Gavin Ambrose and Paul Harris’s Basics Design books were the bestsellers of the week:
Kathryn Best’s The Fundamentals of Design Management was recently featured in a list of the ’50 Must-Read Design Books’:
Thank you to New Designers for a great week! Check out the work of many of the graduates involved on their website.
